Brian Posen

Brian Posehn was born on July 6, 1966, in Sacramento, California. He attended California State University, Sacramento, before beginning his career after connecting with Bob Odenkirk and David Cross in San Francisco. His early career comprised guest appearances and minor roles, notably on HBO’s acclaimed sketch comedy series “Mr. Show with Bob and David” from 1995 to 1998, where he appeared in 28 episodes and contributed as a writer. This role earned him two Primetime Emmy Award nominations in 1998 and 1999 for Outstanding Writing for a Variety or Music Program, shared with the writing staff. He also had a recurring role in “Just Shoot Me!” from 1999 to 2003, appearing in 29 episodes, and voiced Jim Kuback in “Mission Hill” from 1999 to 2002. These early experiences established his versatility in both live-action and voice acting roles.

Posehn later gained wider recognition for his role as Brian Spukowski on Comedy Central’s “The Sarah Silverman Program” from 2007 to 2010, appearing in 32 episodes and writing the season three finale. He also notably portrayed Bert Kibbler on “The Big Bang Theory” in a recurring capacity from 2013 to 2019, appearing in 15 episodes. His film credits include “Run Ronnie Run!” (2002), where he also served as a writer, and voice work in animated films like “Surf’s Up” (2007). In stand-up comedy, Posehn released “Live In: Nerd Rage” in 2006 and “Fart and Wiener Jokes” in 2010, demonstrating his unique comedic style. His music career includes the album “Grandpa Metal” in 2020, featuring collaborations with prominent musicians.
