Brooke Shields has maintained a successful and versatile career as an actress, model, and author, navigating early stardom to become a respected voice in television and advocacy. After gaining significant attention for her leading role as a child prostitute in Louis Malle’s controversial 1978 film Pretty Baby, Brooke Shields established a versatile career as an actress, model, and author. Her early modeling work included an Ivory Soap advertisement photographed by Francesco Scavullo, and by 1980, she became the youngest fashion model to appear on the cover of Vogue and starred in the notable Calvin Klein Jeans ad campaign. Her cinematic presence continued with leading roles in The Blue Lagoon (1980) and Endless Love (1981), earning her multiple People’s Choice Awards for Favorite Young Performer from 1981 through 1984.

Later film projects included Mapplethorpe: Look at the Pictures (2016), which achieved a 97% fresh score, and A Castle for Christmas (2021), scoring 75% fresh. In 2022, Shields launched her podcast Now What?, offering candid conversations with guests, and was the subject of the 2023 documentary Pretty Baby: Brooke Shields, reflecting on her expansive career. Demonstrating her industry leadership, she was elected President of the Actors’ Equity Association in 2024.
