Callan Mcauliffe

Callan McAuliffe, born on January 24, 1995, in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, began his acting career at an early age. He attended The SCOTS College in Bellevue Hill, where he excelled in drama and musical theatre, topping the London Trinity College Musical Theatre Exams. McAuliffe’s early artistic success paved the way for his entry into the entertainment industry, with his first screen roles appearing in Australian television series like ‘Comedy Inc.’ and ‘Blue Water High’. His talent was quickly recognized, leading to significant opportunities in both Australian and international productions.

McAuliffe’s career progression saw a major turning point at age 14 when he was cast as Bryce in Rob Reiner’s award-winning film “Flipped” (2010), marking his American feature film debut. This role was followed by his portrayal of Sam in Steven Spielberg and Michael Bay’s “I Am Number Four” (2011). He gained further international recognition for his role as young Jay Gatsby in Baz Luhrmann’s “The Great Gatsby” (2013), where he acted alongside Leonardo DiCaprio. McAuliffe continued to build a diverse filmography, taking on roles in projects such as “Beneath the Harvest Sky” (2013), “Kite” (2014) with Samuel L. Jackson, “Robot Overlords” (2014) alongside Sir Ben Kingsley and Gillian Anderson, and “The Stanford Prison Experiment” (2015).

From 2017 to 2022, McAuliffe was a series regular as Alden on the critically acclaimed television series “The Walking Dead,” a role that expanded his global audience. Beyond acting, he is a published author, releasing his first fictional novel, “The Hill Ghost,” in 2019. McAuliffe is also actively involved in philanthropic work, serving as the International Australian Ambassador for UNICEF and maintaining a connection with The Wolf Connection in California, an organization supporting at-risk youth through wolf-dog rescue programs. He is also a Tourism Australia Ambassador.
