For over 40 years Bob Nelson has been making audiences around the world laugh with his hilarious stand-up and side-splitting film and TV work. Born and raised in New York, Bob started experimenting with stand-up whilst at Nassau Community College in the late 70’s. From his very first performance a star was unveiled and nothing was going to dim his shine.
One of Bob’s many specialities in comedy is the use of his many rubber-faced characters, all as unique and kooky as the comedian himself. His most popular include Jiffy Jeff; a punch drunk prizefighter, Eppy Epperman; a brilliant and nerdy kid, Wilby Stuckerson; a hillbilly chicken farmer, Mr Pingyeh; an eloquent yet argumentative Asian man, and an entire team of stereotypical footballers. Some other crowd favorites are Bob’s Jaques-Yves Cousteau impersonations, and his “football act” during which he parodies old team rundowns in College Football All-Star Games.
Bob has worked alongside some of the world’s greatest comedians, whether it be on television, film or stage. In 1983 he received a prestigious Emmy Award for his children’s show Double Muppet Hold The Onions. In 1990 Bob shared the screen with legend Arnold Schwarzenegger in the hilarious movie Kindergarten Cop. For 8 years the stand-up opened for Rodney Dangerfield, whom he refers to as his comedy godfather. He appeared in two of Rodney’s HBO stand-up showcases alongside the likes of Jerry Seinfeld and Roseanne Barr. This led to Bob getting his own HBO specials. He has appeared on numerous late shows including the Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson, and David Letterman.
