Cameron Arthur Mathison is a Canadian/American television presenter and actor. When he was a child he was diagnosed with a degenerative bone disease called Legg-Perthes disease and for four years had to wear a brace. He felt that overcoming this adversity helped develop his character. He went to Thornlea Secondary School in Thornhill, Ontario and McGill University in Montreal, Quebec where he graduated with a degree in Civil Engineering.
Mathison found work acting in commercials and as a model after university. His acting career progressed working in a feature film and movie. From 1997-2011 he played the role of Ryan Lavery on ‘All My Children’. He won the ‘Soap Opera Digest Award’ for ‘Outstanding Male Newcomer’ in 1999 and earned ‘Daytime Emmy Award Nominations’ for ‘Outstanding Supporting Actor’ in 2002 and 2005. He worked freelance with ‘Good Morning America’ at first before becoming a regular correspondent.
He has worked on prestigious events such as ‘Oscars’, ‘Grammys’ and ‘Golden Globes’. His acting career continued in movies. He has been for example in ‘Desperate Housewives’, ‘Drop Dead Diva’ and ‘Hot in Cleveland’. He was given the job co-hosting Hallmark Channel’s ‘Home and Family’. Mathison has also agreed to appear in movies based on the ‘Murder she Baked’ novels.
