Can Yaman was born on November 8, 1989, in Istanbul, Turkey. His parents, Güven and Güldem, divorced when he was young, and his grandmothers were instrumental in his upbringing. He attended Bilfen College and later graduated from Liceo Italiano di Istanbul with the highest-ever academic record. In 2012, Yaman earned a law degree from Yeditepe University and began working at PricewaterhouseCoopers, focusing on mergers and acquisitions and contributing articles to the tax section of Dünya newspaper. Despite a burgeoning career in corporate law, he realized office life was not his path. A chance encounter during a summer holiday in Bodrum led him to acting managers, marking a significant career shift away from law. His first appearance was in a music video for “Porselen Dusler” by Gulnur Gokce, portraying an unfaithful husband.
Yaman’s acting career officially began with a role in “Affairs of the Heart” (2014), but his breakthrough came with “Full Moon” (2017), which brought him international recognition. This success paved the way for his career in Italy. He further cemented his status with lead roles in “Daydreamer” (2018-2019) and “Mr. Wrong” (2020), earning numerous national and international awards, including the Golden Butterfly Award for Best Actor in a Romantic Comedy in 2018 and a Murex d’Or in 2019 for “Erkenci Kuş.”
Beyond acting, Yaman has collaborated with various brands in Italy and Turkey. He is also actively involved in charitable initiatives through the “Can Yaman for Children” association, which raises funds for children and adolescents in the Italian public health system. His philanthropy extends to supporting earthquake victims in Turkey and contributing through sales of his autobiography, “Sembra strano anche a me,” and his perfume, “Can Yaman Mania.” He continuously seeks new challenges, evident in his upcoming international projects like “Sandokan” (2025) and his commitment to learning multiple languages for acting roles across different markets.
