Oded Fehr is an Israeli actor who has achieved great success in America thanks to his prominent roles in major films such as The Mummy, The Mummy Returns, three Resident Evil movies, and Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo. He has also had recurring roles in many major series, including Charmed, Once Upon a Time, 24, Sleeper Cell, and more. In recent years, he has been playing Admiral Charles Vance in Star Trek: Discovery on Paramount+.
Fehr was born in Tel Aviv in 1970. He trained in theatre acting in England and Germany before returning to Israel for his military service. After that, he worked in airline security before he got a major break: being cast as Ardeth Bay in the 1999 film The Mummy, an action-adventure film that took over $400 million at the box office and spawned a successful remake, The Mummy Returns, two years later. He then went on to appear in three of the seven Resident Evil films: Apocalypse, Extinction, and Retribution, all of which were box office hits.
Fehr’s reputation as a fantasy actor was further confirmed with his portrayal of Zankou in the series Charmed and a host of other roles during the 2000s and 2010s. He has also taken several high-profile voice acting roles in series such as Batman: The Brave and the Bold, Ultimate Spider Man, Kaijudo: Rise of the Duel Masters, and Young Justice. He joined the cast of Star Trek: Discovery during the show’s third season and has been a firm favourite ever since.
