Catherine Reitman is an American-Canadian actress, producer, and writer recognized for creating, executive producing, writing, and starring in the Netflix/CBC Television sitcom, Workin' Moms.

Catherine Marcelle Reitman was born on April 28, 1981, in Los Angeles, California, to French-Canadian actress Geneviève Robert and Slovak-born Canadian film director Ivan Reitman. She pursued her education at the Cate School and later majored in acting at the University of Southern California. Reitman began her acting career at a young age, appearing in films such as ‘Twins’ (1988), ‘Ghostbusters II’ (1989), and ‘Kindergarten Cop’ (1990). Her early career included roles in various films and television series, steadily building her presence in the entertainment industry.
Throughout the 2000s, Reitman continued to expand her acting portfolio with roles in notable productions. She appeared in films like ‘Thank You for Smoking’ (2005), ‘Knocked Up’ (2007), ‘I Love You, Man’ (2009), and ‘Friends with Benefits’ (2011). On television, she guest-starred in popular series such as ‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’ (2010–2016), ‘How I Met Your Mother’, ‘Weeds’, and ‘Black-ish’ (2015–2020). In 2011, she launched ‘Breakin’ It Down with Catherine Reitman’, a film review web show on YouTube, which ran until 2013.
A significant turning point in Reitman’s career occurred in 2016 when she co-founded Wolf & Rabbit Entertainment ULC. with her husband, Philip Sternberg. Under this company, she created, executive produced, wrote, and starred in the acclaimed half-hour, single-camera comedy series ‘Workin’ Moms’ for CBC and Netflix. The series, which ran from 2017 to 2023, explored the challenges of working mothers and garnered critical recognition, including five Canadian Screen Award nominations in 2017. Reitman also directed several episodes of ‘Workin’ Moms’. In 2022, she also appeared in the revival of ‘The Kids in the Hall’ and is slated to be a writer for the upcoming ‘Bringing Up Bebe’.
