Cedric The Entertainer

Cedric The Entertainer, born Cedric Antonio Kyles, is an acclaimed actor, producer, and comedian known for his extensive work across television and film, offering versatile talent for brand collaborations. After hosting BET’s ‘ComicView’ during the 1993–1994 season and ‘Def Comedy Jam’ in 1995, Cedric The Entertainer quickly established himself as a prominent comedic voice, seamlessly transitioning into acting with his first role as The Cowardly Lion in the Apollo Theater Revival of ‘The Wiz’ in 1995. His career rapidly ascended when he co-starred with Steve Harvey on The WB sitcom ‘The Steve Harvey Show,’ playing the memorable character of Cedric Jackie Robinson from 1996 to 2002. Cementing his status as a comedic powerhouse, Cedric was also one of ‘The Original Kings of Comedy,’ a celebrated group whose tour became the subject of a Spike Lee film in 2000.

In recognition of his sustained impact and versatility across film, television, and comedy, a street in St. Louis was renamed Cedric The Entertainer Way in his honor in 2018. The following year, in 2019, his significant contributions to the entertainment industry were further celebrated with the prestigious unveiling of his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, solidifying his legacy as an acclaimed actor, producer, and comedian.
