Barry Sloane

Born in Liverpool, England, Barry Sloane embarked on a career in entertainment after initially pursuing music. At the age of 13, he started playing in a band called The Smiling Jackals, touring the UK as their lead singer and bass guitarist. A pivotal moment occurred when an acting agency offered him a regular role on a British TV show, leading him to transition into acting. He gained early recognition in British television with roles in various series, including the long-running soap opera “Brookside” (2002–2003) as the character Sean Smith, and “Hollyoaks” (2007–2008) where he played Niall Rafferty. His performances in these roles established him in the acting landscape in the UK.

Sloane expanded his career into theatre, making his West End debut in Jez Butterworth’s critically acclaimed play “Jerusalem” in 2009. The play’s success led to a transfer to Broadway in 2011, marking his Broadway debut at the Music Box Theatre. His exposure grew significantly with his move to American television, featuring in roles such as Aiden Mathis in the ABC drama series “Revenge” (2012–2014), a role that was upgraded to series regular. He also appeared in “The Whispers” (2015) and later joined the cast of “Longmire” (2015–2017) as Deputy Zachary Heflin. A significant milestone in his career came with his voice and motion capture performance as Captain John Price in “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare” (2019), which earned him a BAFTA nomination. He reprised this role in subsequent titles, “Modern Warfare II” (2022) and “Modern Warfare III” (2023).

More recently, Sloane has returned to UK productions and gained further high-profile roles. In 2022, he starred in “Litvinenko” and “The Bay” (2022–2023) as Chris Fischer. He was cast as Destruction, also known as The Prodigal, in the second season of Netflix’s “The Sandman” (2025) and joined the cast of HBO’s “House of the Dragon” for its third season as Ser Adrian Redfort (2026). Additionally, he continued his theatre work, portraying Yosser Hughes in “Boys from the Blackstuff” (2023-2024) and played John Lennon in his debut play “Two of Us” (2024), demonstrating his range across different mediums.
