Charlene Amoia

Charlene M. Amoia was born in Buffalo, New York, and later moved to Las Vegas at the age of 15. She embarked on a successful modeling career before transitioning into acting, ultimately relocating to Los Angeles to further pursue her passion. Her early television appearances included various commercials and guest roles, laying the groundwork for her breakthrough.

Amoia gained significant recognition for her recurring role as Wendy the Waitress on the acclaimed sitcom “How I Met Your Mother” from 2005 to 2011. Initially cast for a single episode, her character’s popularity led to an expanded presence across 17 episodes. Her career trajectory continued with notable film roles, including “Seven Pounds” (2008) alongside Will Smith, “American Reunion” (2012) where she played Ellie, and “Authors Anonymous” (2014). She further expanded her cinematic footprint with roles in “Birds of Prey: And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn” (2020), portraying the young Huntress’s mother, and “The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It” (2021), featuring Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson.
