Charlie Follett is a talented British modern pentathlete known for her remarkable achievements in the sport. She began making her mark at a young age, finishing ninth in the individual event at the European Junior Modern Pentathlon Championships in El Prat de Llobregat in 2018. During the same competition, she showcased her team spirit by winning a gold medal in the women’s relay alongside her teammate, Zoe Davidson. This early success laid a strong foundation for her burgeoning career.
Follett continued to excel, securing a fourth-place finish in the relay at the 2019 European Modern Pentathlon Championships. However, her progress faced a significant setback in 2020 when she suffered a fractured kneecap, forcing her to miss an entire season. Despite this challenging period, Follett demonstrated resilience and determination, returning to competitive form in 2022 with outstanding performances at the European Modern Pentathlon Championships in Székesfehérvár, Hungary. There, she won both individual and team gold medals, reaffirming her status as a leading athlete in modern pentathlon.
Later that year, Follett added to her accolades by winning team gold at the World Modern Pentathlon Championships in Alexandria, Egypt, competing alongside teammates Olivia Green and Jessica Varley. Her accomplishments have solidified her reputation as a key player in British modern pentathlon.
Selected for the 2023 European Games in Kraków, Follett faced another challenge as she had to withdraw due to injury. Nevertheless, her journey in modern pentathlon remains inspiring, as she continues to pursue her goals and represent Great Britain on the international stage.
