Her career includes senior roles at significant companies such as Microsoft Canada, TELUS, and Open Text. At Microsoft Canada, she served as Chief Brand and Communications Officer, leading public relations and corporate reputation efforts. Before that, she was the Director of Marketing at TELUS Corporation, where she guided award-winning campaigns. She also held the position of Director of Operations at Open Text, focusing on global market growth. Her work at Microsoft and TELUS earned IABC-Gold Quill Awards, Canadian Public Relations Society Awards of Excellence, the Corporate IT Hero award by the Information Technology Association of Canada, and the Business for the Arts Awards. These achievements highlight her capability in strategic communications and marketing within complex technological environments.
Currently, Dr. Anand is a Managing Director at Clariti Strategic Advisors™, a boutique investment bank. In this role, she concentrates on advisory mandates related to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) and social impact investments, specifically within the technology and healthcare sectors. She is a recognized expert in intrapreneurship, a concept she defines as fostering an entrepreneurial spirit within an existing organization to drive innovation and creative thinking. This expertise is a central theme in her keynote presentations delivered at major global events. Her book, “The Greenhouse Approach: How to Cultivate Deliberate Innovation in Organizations,” is a key text for the Forbes MBA program, further solidifying her authority on the subject. In 2022, she was named a “Change Maker” by The Globe and Mail, recognizing her as a bold and innovative leader for her ideas, accomplishments, and impact.
Dr. Anand holds an MBA from The Kellogg School of Management and completed her Doctorate at Bradford University in the UK. Her research and writing have been featured in publications such as the Globe and Mail and The Huffington Post. She has also taught courses at Humber and Sheridan College. Her career progression demonstrates a continuous focus on innovation, strategic communication, and leadership in technology and business.
