Choi Injeong

An Olympic silver medalist and multiple-time Asian champion in épée fencing, Choi In-jeong made her international debut in 2011 at a World Cup event in Nanjing, China. Her consistent elite performance quickly established her on the world stage, culminating in her first Olympic medal a year later: a silver in the Team Women’s Épée at the 2012 London Olympic Games. She continued to build an impressive competitive record, including a gold medal in Individual Women’s Épée at the Grand Prix Xuzhou, China in 2013, followed by two gold medals – Individual and Team Women’s Épée – at the 2014 Asian Championships in Suwon City, South Korea. Her dominance in team events extended with further team gold medals at the Asian Championships in Singapore (2015) and Wuxi, China (2016).

She secured two gold medals at the games, winning both the Individual Women’s Épée and the Team Women’s Épée, thus ending a long-standing gold medal drought for South Korea in the continental event.
