Christian Reitz is an Olympic gold medalist and world record holder in pistol shooting, recognized for his sustained performance in rapid-fire and other pistol events. After establishing himself in the competitive shooting world with a victory in the 25m Rapid Fire Pistol Men Junior event at the 2006 ISSF World Shooting Championships, Christian Reitz went on to secure another junior title at the 2007 European Championships. His swift transition to senior competition brought immediate impact, equalling the World Record in 25m Rapid Fire Pistol Men with a formidable score of 591 in Milan in 2008. The same year, Reitz made his Olympic debut at the 2008 Beijing Games, where he earned an Olympic Bronze Medal in the 25m Rapid Fire Pistol Men event, marking his first Olympic podium finish.
He followed this with another gold medal in the 25m Centre Fire Pistol Men at the 2023 World Championships in Baku.
