Christian Serratos

Born Christian Marie Bernardi on September 21, 1990, in Pasadena, California, and raised in Burbank, California, Christian Serratos developed an early interest in performance. Her mother, Alicia Serratos, is a jewelry designer and public relations/marketing agent of Mexican descent, while her father is a set construction worker of Italian descent. Before pursuing acting, Serratos began figure skating at the age of three, competing for several years and considering Olympic aspirations. She described her initial drive, stating, “My coaches were talking about the Olympics and it was really crazy. Now, I just do it for fun.” At seven years old, she was signed by the Ford Modeling Agency, laying the groundwork for her eventual shift into acting.

Serratos began her acting career with roles as an extra on “The Drew Carey Show” and “Coach.” Her first significant role came in 2004 as Suzie Crabgrass in the Nickelodeon series “Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide,” which ran for three seasons until 2007. Her career trajectory continued with the role of Angela Weber in the highly successful “Twilight” film series, starting in 2008. She reprised her role in “The Twilight Saga: New Moon” (2009) and “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” (2010), earning her the “Young Supporting Actress” award at the 30th Young Artist Awards. Following her work in the “Twilight Saga,” she appeared in “The Black Keys” music video for “Howlin’ for You” in 2011.

A pivotal point in her career was her casting as Rosita Espinosa in AMC’s “The Walking Dead” in its fourth season (2013-2014). Initially a recurring character, she was promoted to series regular in the fifth season and became part of the main credits by the seventh season, appearing in 129 episodes until the series conclusion in 2022. During her tenure on “The Walking Dead,” Serratos also took on the main role of Selena Quintanilla in Netflix’s “Selena: The Series,” which ran for 18 episodes from 2020 to 2021. Her recent projects include a voice role as Harper in “Love, Death & Robots” (2022) and the upcoming main role of Londyn Lorenz in the HBO Max drama “More.”
