Christian Alfred Thun was born on February 24, 1992, in Ennepetal, Germany. He spent his early childhood in Germany and Italy before moving to England at age 13, where he began his amateur boxing career at the Peacock Gym in London. Thun compiled an amateur record of 49 wins and 6 losses. In 2013, he secured a place on the Italian Olympic team while also pursuing higher education. He obtained a Bachelor’s degree in International Business Management in London and is proficient in five languages: English, Italian, German, Spanish, and Russian.
Thun made his professional boxing debut on March 2, 2018, securing a second-round technical knockout victory. His early professional career included several wins, demonstrating his capability in the heavyweight division. A significant milestone occurred on November 14, 2020, when he captured the vacant IBO Continental heavyweight title by defeating Mirko Tintor via corner retirement in the third round in Hamburg, Germany. Throughout his career, Thun has engaged in sparring with prominent boxers such as Vladimir Klitschko and Tyson Fury, gaining valuable experience.
