Drafted in the first round, 26th overall, by the Vancouver Canucks in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft, Schneider began his journey at Boston College, where he excelled as a key player. He won two Lamoriello Trophies as Hockey East champions and made two NCAA Final appearances, showcasing his talent and determination on the ice.

In 2013, Schneider was traded to the New Jersey Devils, where he continued to demonstrate his skills over a seven-year tenure. Despite the team’s struggles, he consistently delivered strong performances, including a standout season in 2014-15 with a .925 save percentage.
