Dan Ahdoot was born in Great Neck, Long Island, New York, on March 29, 1978. He grew up in an observant Iranian Jewish family, attending synagogue on Saturdays and keeping kosher at home. Ahdoot completed pre-medical studies at Johns Hopkins University and was accepted into medical school. However, he chose to pursue a career in stand-up comedy instead.
