Rosa Blasi

Born on December 19, 1972, in Chicago, Illinois, Rosa Blasi began her performance career at a young age, actively participating in over 40 professional theatre productions starting at eight years old. Her early training included comedy at the Piven Performance Company and The Second City Chicago Conservatory. Blasi also toured as a singer with Kenny Rogers, showcasing her versatility as a classically trained mezzo-soprano. Her television debut was a recurring role in the CBS soap opera “The Bold and the Beautiful” in 1996, followed by a starring role in the MTV/UPN sitcom Hitz in 1997. Throughout the late 1990s, she made guest appearances on numerous television series, including “Frasier” (1998), “Becker” (1998), “Caroline in the City” (1998), “V.I.P.” (2000), “Grown Ups” (1999), and “Beverly Hills, 90210” (1999).

Blasi’s breakout role came in 2000 when she began her six-year tenure as Dr. Luisa ‘Lu’ Delgado on Lifetime Television’s medical drama “Strong Medicine,” appearing in 131 episodes until 2006. During this period, she also made her major film debut as Maria, the wife of Bill Pullman’s character, in the Sony blockbuster horror film “The Grudge” (2004). Her career progressed with further significant television roles, including Ronnie Cruz in ABC Family’s “Make It or Break It” from 2009 to 2012, and Barb Thunderman in Nickelodeon’s “The Thundermans” (2013-2018), where she appeared in 98 episodes. Additionally, she played Kit in the Netflix series “Team Kaylie” (2019-2020) for 11 episodes. Her acting credits also include roles in films such as “Sinister Savior” (2020) and television movies like “Christmas Princess” (2017) and “Teenage Bank Heist” (2012).

Beyond acting, Blasi is an accomplished author, having released her comedic memoir “Jock Itch: Misadventures of a Retired Jersey Chaser” through Harper Collins in 2011. She has contributed articles to The Huffington Post and performed stand-up comedy at notable venues like The Comedy Store and Laugh Factory in Los Angeles. From 2017 to 2018, she co-hosted “The Chick Show” podcast with Lisa Ann Walter. Blasi has been a frequent guest on talk shows, including “Politically Incorrect with Bill Maher,” “Anderson Cooper,” “Jimmy Kimmel,” “Wendy Williams,” “Dr. Drew,” and “The View.” In 2019, she earned a master’s degree in clinical psychology from Antioch University Los Angeles and is a licensed marriage and family therapist, specializing in addiction and recovery.
