Daniel Mullen was born on March 1, 1995. He began his youth football career with Aberdeen before joining Livingston in 2012. Mullen made his senior debut for Livingston on August 18, 2012, at the age of 17, and scored his first goal for the club on December 8, 2012. Throughout his initial tenure at Livingston, he made 141 appearances, scoring 33 goals.
Mullen moved to St Mirren in December 2017, initially on an emergency loan before signing a permanent deal in January 2018. He remained with St Mirren until June 2020, making 59 appearances and scoring 10 goals. Following this, he joined Dundee on August 4, 2020, playing a significant role in their return to the Premiership in 2021. He scored on his debut for Dundee and contributed to the team’s success, including a key goal in the Premiership play-offs. Mullen left Dundee in May 2022 after making 50 appearances and scoring 12 goals.
In July 2022, Mullen signed with Partick Thistle, scoring on his debut in the Scottish League Cup. He played 26 matches for the club, netting 4 goals, before moving to League of Ireland Premier Division side Derry City on July 6, 2023. He debuted for Derry City the following day and scored his first goal for the club on August 25. In October 2024, Mullen signed an extension with Derry City, committing to the club until the end of 2025. As of September 26, 2025, he has made 69 appearances and scored 17 goals as part of Derry City.
