Danny Trejo has transitioned from a challenging early life to a prolific actor, producer, and entrepreneur. After being hired as a boxing trainer for actor Eric Roberts on the set of Andrei Konchalovskys film Runaway Train in 1985, Danny Trejo was offered a role as Roberts’ opponent, marking the start of his prolific acting career. His first credited role was Art Sanella in Death Wish 4: The Crackdown (1987). Trejo gained significant recognition with ‘Blood In, Blood Out’ (1993) and worked with acclaimed director Michael Mann on Heat (1995).
He further expanded into voice acting for video games including Grand Theft Auto: Vice City (2002) and Fallout: New Vegas (2010). Trejo continued his expansive filmography into the 2010s, with a notable voice role in the animated feature Storks (2016). He reprised his character Muerte in Cross Wars (2017) and ‘Cross: Rise of the Villains’ (2019). His television appearances included guest roles on popular series like ‘Rick and Morty’ (2017), ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ (2017), and ‘The Flash’ (2017), alongside voicing Vasquez in Disney’s ‘Big City Greens’ (2018).
In 2022, Trejo appeared in ‘The Book of Boba Fett’ and voiced a character in ‘Minions: The Rise of Gru.’ His 2023 appearances include ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race season 15’ and voicing Dwight Méndez in ‘Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth,’ adding to his extensive video game voice work.
