Dave Hill was born in 1970 in Cleveland, Ohio. He has established a career in entertainment, encompassing comedy, acting, writing, and music. His work includes roles in television series such as “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt” (2017), “Full Frontal with Samantha Bee” (2016), “King of Miami” (2007), and “Inside Amy Schumer” (2013). These roles showcase his range within the comedic landscape. Hill has also authored essay collections and hosts “The Goddamn Dave Hill Show” on WFMU radio.

In his musical career, Hill is the lead singer and guitarist for the band Valley Lodge, whose song “Go” is featured as the theme for HBO’s “Last Week Tonight with John Oliver.” His musical background extends to being a member of the 1990s alternative band Sons of Elvis, which signed with Priority Records and released the album “Glodean” in 1995. The lead single, “Formaldehyde,” received airplay on radio and MTV and was included in the soundtrack for the film “Higher Learning.” Hill has also been involved with other musical projects, including the psychedelic rock band Painted Doll, formed in 2016 with Chris Reifert, and has played bass for artists like Lucy Wainwright Roche and Chuck Mosley, and guitar for Walter Schreifels and Diamondsnake.

Hill’s writing contributions include his books “Tasteful Nudes” and “Dave Hill Doesn’t Live Here Anymore,” as well as articles for publications such as The New York Times, GQ, and Vice.
