Born David Marvin Kerr Jr. in Kingston, Jamaica, Davo was raised in an environment deeply immersed in music. His father, Junior Marvin, was a member of Bob Marley & The Wailers, a legendary reggae group. This early exposure to music established a foundation for Davo’s passion. His musical journey expanded when he moved to Toronto, where he cultivated his skills in writing lyrics and melodies, developing a unique sound. Davo’s career began to take shape through collaborations and a mentorship with Tory Lanez, leading to significant contributions in music production and songwriting.

Davo’s professional accomplishments include co-writing and producing tracks for Tory Lanez’s mixtape “Conflicts Of My Soul” in 2013. He also co-wrote “Super Freak,” featuring Rick Ross, which was included on Lanez’s 2017 mixtape “The New Toronto 2.” In 2018, Davo was featured alongside Fabolous on the track “Connection” from Lanez’s album “Memories Don’t Die.” His debut single, “Pull Up,” also featuring Tory Lanez, garnered 1.2 million views on YouTube, demonstrating collaborative success. In 2024, Davo debuted as an actor, portraying his father, Junior Marvin, in the Bob Marley biopic “One Love,” connecting his personal history with his professional work.

His artistic approach, described as psychedelic R&B, combines his instrumental abilities with lyrical craftsmanship. Davo has continued to work on new music, with an upcoming album that is expected to feature artists such as Tory Lanez and Rich the Kid. The initial release from this project, “Say Something,” a single with an accompanying visual directed by Tory Lanez, was a tribute to the sound of 90s R&B.
