David Magidoff

David Magidoff was born in Manhasset, New York, and raised in Marlboro, New Jersey, where he attended Marlboro High School. He pursued higher education at the University of Southern California, earning degrees in both Creative Writing and Theater. During his time at USC, Magidoff actively participated in the Brand New Theatre, collaborating with peers such as Rob Kerkovich and Patrick J. Adams in writing and performing. His career began with a television debut as Stan Wexler on the NBC drama “American Dreams” (2004–2005).

Magidoff’s career progressed with notable roles, establishing himself in various television series. He was cast as Jeff Ratner on “Veronica Mars” (2006–2007) and later as Nicky Brooks in AppleTV+’s “The Morning Show” (2019), which earned Emmy nominations and a SAG Award. In 2021, he took on the role of Officer Teddy Reed in the Showtime limited series “Dexter: New Blood.” His television credits also include appearances in “ER” (2007), “Greek” (2008), “NCIS” (2010), “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation” (2012), “Lethal Weapon” (2017), “General Hospital” (2018), and “American Crime Story: Impeachment” (2021). Beyond acting, Magidoff hosted MTV’s “Broke Ass Game Show” (2015) and the mobile trivia game “HQ Trivia.” In 2007, he founded Monkey Butler, an international comedy school offering free improv classes to over 3,000 students across the UK, US, and New Zealand.

Demonstrating his versatility, Magidoff also hosts “FANADDICTS,” a pop-culture podcast produced by Roddenberry Entertainment, where celebrity guests discuss their personal obsessions. He performs improv globally, including at renowned venues like The Groundlings, UCB, and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. In 2025, it was announced that Magidoff would reprise his role as Teddy Reed in “Dexter: Resurrection,” further cementing his presence in the “Dexter” universe.
