Derek Hough

Derek Hough is a distinguished dancer, choreographer, actor, singer, and television personality, recognized for his extensive contributions to the entertainment industry. After joining ABC’s ‘Dancing with the Stars’ as a professional dancer in 2007, Derek Hough quickly established himself as a dominant force, securing a record-breaking six Mirrorball Trophy wins with celebrity partners through 2016, including his first with Brooke Burke in 2008 and his sixth with Bindi Irwin in 2015. His exceptional choreography on the show earned him 14 Primetime Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Choreography, from which he won four times, notably in 2013. Prior to his television breakthrough, Hough demonstrated his competitive prowess by winning the IDSF World Latin U-21 Championship in 2002 and the Blackpool U-21 Latin title with Aneta Piotrowska in 2003, in addition to receiving the LA Outstanding Dancer of the Year and New York Dance Alliance Outstanding Dance awards.

His esteemed expertise led to his return to ‘Dancing with the Stars’ in September 2020, this time as a judge, replacing Len Goodman. He continued in this capacity for subsequent seasons, ultimately becoming the interim head judge for season 32 following Goodman’s retirement and passing, further solidifying his standing as a leading authority in dance. Looking ahead to 2025, Hough is set to take on a new role as a host for ‘Extra,’ continuing to diversify his acclaimed career across various facets of the entertainment industry.
