Derrick Favors has established himself as a prominent figure in professional basketball, transitioning from a highly touted prospect to a seasoned NBA veteran known for his consistent performance and defensive presence. After leading South Atlanta High School to the Georgia Class AAA state championship in 2009 with a commanding 38 points and 21 rebounds in the final game, Derrick Favors quickly established himself as a dominant force on the court. During his senior season, he averaged 28.1 points, 13.3 rebounds, 5.0 blocks, 3.0 steals, and 2.0 assists per game, setting career records for points, rebounds, and blocked shots for his high school. His exceptional talent earned him MVP honors at both the McDonald’s All-American Game and the Jordan Brand Classic in 2009.

He also ascended to fourth place on the Jazz’s all-time rebounding list in 2019, exceeding Greg Ostertag’s record. Consistently demonstrating his rebounding prowess and defensive impact, Favors frequently ranked among league leaders in offensive rebounds and blocks. His career highlights include a personal best of 35 points in 2015, 20 rebounds in 2019, and 7 blocks in 2015, showcasing his powerful interior presence and all-around game. Favors’ sustained dedication to professional basketball continued with a signing by the Chicago Bulls in 2023, followed by a transition to the Windy City Bulls in the NBA G League later that year.
