Derrick Kosinski

Derrick Kosinski was born on August 17, 1983, in Chicago, Illinois. He attended Maine East High School in Chicago and later Oakton Community College, where he played men’s basketball during the 2002-2003 season. His career in television began in 2004 when he was cast in MTV’s “Road Rules: X-Treme.” This marked the beginning of his extensive involvement in reality television, particularly with “The Challenge” series, where he became a three-time champion. Kosinski is a first-generation American, as his family is from Poland, and his mother speaks only Polish.

Over the years, Kosinski has consistently appeared in various iterations of “The Challenge,” solidifying his reputation as a competitive and recognized personality within the franchise. His participation includes winning “The Inferno 3” (2007), “The Island” (2008), and “The Ruins” (2009). Beyond his reality TV appearances, Kosinski expanded his career into acting, playing the role of Bobby in the 2011 film “Hyenas.” In 2017, he co-created and became a writer for “Challenge Mania,” a successful podcast series dedicated to discussing “The Challenge” show.

In recent years, Kosinski has diversified his professional endeavors, including a debut in professional wrestling in 2023, joining Boca Raton Championship Wrestling alongside Mark Long. He has continued his involvement with “The Challenge” franchise, participating in “The Challenge: All Stars” series and upcoming seasons like “The Challenge 40: Battle of the Eras” (2024) and “The Challenge: Vets & New Threats” (2025). Kosinski married Nicole Gruman on July 22, 2022, and they have one child.
