Dey Young

Dey Young is an accomplished actress and sculptor, recognized for her diverse roles in film and television, and for her contributions to the art world. After making her professional acting debut in 1979 with a role in the cult classic ‘Rock ‘n’ Roll High School,’ Dey Young went on to establish herself as a versatile performer with over 100 film and television credits. Young gained widespread recognition for her memorable performance as the ‘Snobby Saleswoman’ in the 1990 romantic comedy ‘Pretty Woman,’ a role that remains a notable part of her extensive filmography. She reprised her initial breakthrough role in the 1994 film ‘Shake, Rattle and Rock!’ and honed her craft early on by earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Scripps College and further training at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts.

Her sculptural work has been widely exhibited across North America, showcased in prominent galleries in Santa Fe, Los Angeles, San Diego, and Carmel. Young’s contributions to the art world have been critically recognized; four of her pieces were selected as Los Angeles County Museum’s Special Projects for the Art and Architecture Tour in both 2006 and 2012. In 2011, her work garnered further attention when it was featured online in the National Sculpture Society’s ‘LOVE’ exhibition, with her sculptures now held in prominent global collections and museums. More recently, Young has continued her acting career with roles in the 2022 feature film ‘Amsterdam’ and an appearance on the critically acclaimed television series ‘This Is Us’ in the same year.
