American actor Donald Gibb is best known for his roles as Ray Jackson in Bloodsport and Ogre in the Revenge of the Nerds series of films. He has also starred in the HBO sitcom 1st & Ten and in over 25 other movies including Amazon Women on the Moon and Jocks. Gibb is the co-owner and spokesman of Chicago bar Trader Todd’s and Ogre beer, named after the dim-witted but iconic character Ogre whom he plays in Revenge of the Nerds.
Born in and raised in California, Gibb was a talented sportsman growing up and won a basketball scholarship at the University of New Mexico. He then moved to the University of San Diego where he played football before joining the San Diego Chargers. After a car accident ended his football career, Gibb turned to acting and landed small roles in Conan the Barbarian and Stripe. His big break came when he landed the role of the Ogre character in Revenge of the Nerds, a role he reprised in sequel Revenge of the Nerds II: Nerds in Paradise and in the fourth film in the series, Revenge of the Nerds IV: Nerds in Love.
Gibb is also well known for his role in martial arts movie Bloodsport alongside Jean-Claude Van Damme, and he also appeared in the Bloodsport sequel in 1996. Gibb found fame with television audiences playing linebacker Leslie Dr. Death Krunchner on HBO’s 1st & Ten, playing the part from 1984 until 1991.
