Dondria Nicole

Dondria Nicole Fields was born on January 6, 1987, in Dover, Oklahoma, and raised in Texas, where she began her musical journey singing in her church choir at a young age. Her career trajectory began to shift in 2007 when she created a YouTube channel, “Phatfffat,” to share her singing talent with a broader audience. This online platform proved to be a pivotal point, as it led to her discovery by renowned So So Def founder, Jermaine Dupri. After being contacted via YouTube, Dondria was flown to Atlanta and subsequently offered a recording contract with So So Def/Island Def Jam in 2007, marking her official entry into the music industry.

Her recording debut came in 2008 with the single “Can’t Stop,” produced by Jermaine Dupri and co-written by Chrisette Michele. This buzz single paved the way for her full-length album debut, “Dondria vs. Phatfffat,” released in August 2010. The album contained the single “You’re the One,” which achieved commercial success, peaking at number 14 on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and number one on 106 & Park. Throughout her career, Dondria has consistently utilized her YouTube channel to maintain a direct connection with her fanbase, accumulating over 120,000 subscribers, and continually releasing mixtapes and EPs such as “The Day of The Don” (2017) and “A Tale of Hearts” (2018).

In 2023, Dondria released the EP “Perspective” under her newly formed company, Awe Me Entertainment, in partnership with 630 Productions, demonstrating her evolving artistic vision and entrepreneurial spirit. She has also embarked on tours, including as an opening act for Trey Songz and Monica’s “Passion Pain & Pleasure” Tour in 2010. Her ability to blend traditional R&B artistry with a strong digital presence has defined her career, allowing her to connect with audiences across various platforms.
