Dotan achieved significant mainstream success with his self-produced second album, ‘7 Layers,’ released on January 31, 2014. The album quickly climbed to number 2 on the Dutch Top 100 Charts and earned Gold status the same year, before reaching Double Platinum by October 2015. From the album, the hit single ‘Home’ dominated charts, spending four weeks at number 1 on the Dutch MegaTop50 and achieving Triple Platinum certification by December 2014. ‘Home’ also extended its reach internationally, peaking at number 1 in Belgium.
Prior to this breakthrough, Dotan secured a record deal with EMI following successful demo submissions to producers Martin Terefe and Sacha Skarbek, which led to recording sessions at Terefe’s Kensaltown Studios in London. His debut album, ‘Dream Parade,’ was released in 2010. Following the widespread success of ‘7 Layers,’ Dotan expanded his touring presence, embarking on two successful United States tours alongside acclaimed artist Ben Folds throughout 2015 and 2016. In January 2016, he launched the ‘7 Layers Sessions’ in Amsterdam, a highly regarded concert series dedicated to promoting new national and international musicians.
His creative output continued with the release of his EP, ‘Numb,’ on May 22, 2020, further showcasing his evolution as a singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and record producer. Dotans career is marked by a consistent trajectory of chart-topping releases, extensive international touring, and impactful cultural contributions.
