Elena Kampouris

Elena Kampouris was born on September 16, 1997, in New York City, New York, to an American fashion illustrator mother, Ivey Barry, and a Greek wine store owner father, Alexander Kampouris. She has English and French ancestry through her mother and grew up in Bridgewater Township, New Jersey, attending Gill St. Bernard’s School before transitioning to private tutoring for her final high school years. Kampouris’s career began in 2012 with a guest appearance as a Constance Girl in “Gossip Girl,” followed by the Nickelodeon television film “Jinxed” in 2013, where she played Ivy Murray. Her film debut occurred in the drama film “Labor Day.” In December 2013, she signed with William Morris Endeavor, a significant step in her early career.

Her career progressed with roles such as Allison Doss in “Men, Women & Children” (2014) and Alexia in “The Cobbler” (2014). Kampouris gained wider recognition for her portrayal of Maya Decker in the NBC thriller series “American Odyssey” in 2015, appearing in nine episodes. A notable recurring role began in 2016 as Paris Miller in the “My Big Fat Greek Wedding” film series, a character she reprised in “My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3” in 2023. Further demonstrating her versatility, she made her Broadway debut in 2016 as Cécile Volanges in “Les Liaisons Dangereuses.” In 2017, she took on the role of Juliet Sykes in the film “Before I Fall,” which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival.

Kampouris expanded her television work as Minnow Bly in the Facebook Watch series “Sacred Lies” (2018) and secured a main cast role as Chloe Sampson in the Netflix superhero series “Jupiter’s Legacy” in 2021, based on the graphic novel. Her film credits also include “Summer Night” (2019), “Children of the Corn” (2020), “Shoplifters of the World” (2021), “Wifelike” (2022), and “Vindicta” (2023). Most recently, she starred in Gabriele Muccino’s films “Here Now” and “Fino Alla Fine,” where she performed the lead role entirely in Italian for the latter, showcasing her fluency in the language. She is also proficient in Mandarin and ASL.
