Esha Singh’s journey into the world of sport shooting began with a spark of curiosity and a visit to a shooting range that changed everything. Born in Hyderabad, India, on January 1, 2005, she was initially drawn to various sports—go-karting, badminton, and tennis—but it was the precision of air pistol shooting that captured her heart. At just 13, she made headlines by becoming the youngest national champion in the 10m air pistol event, defeating seasoned competitors like Manu Bhaker and Heena Sidhu. This early success set the stage for a remarkable career.
Esha’s dedication led her to the prestigious Gun for Glory academy, where she honed her skills under the guidance of Olympic medallist Gagan Narang. By 2022, she had already amassed an impressive collection of medals, including four at the Asian Games, where she clinched gold in the 25m pistol team event. Fast forward to 2025, and Esha recently secured a bronze medal at the ISSF World Championship in Cairo, marking her first individual senior world championship medal. With three ISSF medals this year alone, her trajectory continues to rise.
Esha believes that every shot is a lesson in focus and resilience. As she prepares for the 2025 international science photo competition, she reflects on how her journey in sport shooting has taught her the importance of clarity and determination. Her story is not just about medals; it’s about the relentless pursuit of excellence and the courage to aim high.
