Eugene Simon

Eugene Simon was born in London on June 11, 1992. His acting career began at the age of eight when he joined the child agency Abacus, initially appearing in theater productions. His early interest in acting was sparked by reciting poems from Roald Dahl’s ‘Dirty Beasts’. At the age of twelve, Simon portrayed the younger version of Heath Ledger’s ‘Casanova’ in the 2005 film. The following year, at thirteen, he took on the lead role of Gerald Durrell in the BBC’s television adaptation of ‘My Family and Other Animals’. Throughout his time at Downside School, Simon participated in commercials and notably appeared as Young Ben Hur in Drimtim Entertainment’s production of ‘Ben Hur’. After this, he began a modeling career through UK agency Models 1, which he continues to pursue.

On his eighteenth birthday, Eugene Simon secured two significant roles that would define a major part of his career trajectory. He was cast as Lancel Lannister in HBO’s ‘Game of Thrones’, a role he maintained for six seasons from 2011 to 2016. Concurrently, he was cast in Nickelodeon’s ‘House of Anubis’ as Jerome Clarke, a role he played for three seasons from 2011 to 2013, appearing in 146 episodes. During breaks from these series, Simon transitioned to leading American characters in his first US films. He played Eugene Devlin, a fictional poet, in ‘Before I Sleep’ (2013) alongside Bonnie Wright, and portrayed US soccer player Kennefick in ‘Eden’ (2013). More recently, Simon has starred as Sean Nally in the 2017 Irish film ‘The Lodgers’ and took on the titular role in the 2018 film ‘Kill Ben Lyk’. His career has also included stage work, such as ‘For King and Country’ (2018) at Southwark Playhouse and ‘A Room with a View’ (2019) at L.A. Theatre Works.

Beyond his acting, Simon has been involved in producing, notably for the short film ‘Resonance’ (2018) where he also played a role. He continues to reside and work between London and Los Angeles, demonstrating an international career presence. Simon has also used his platform to advocate for men’s mental health and suicide prevention, participating in events like the 2020 Well Beings Virtual National Town Hall & Panel Discussion.
