Evan Roberts is a sports talk radio host on WFAN. He hosts afternoon drive with Tiki Barber from 2-630PM as well as the Rico Brogna podcast.
Evan Roberts, born on July 11, 1983, in Woodmere, New York, embarked on his radio career at the early age of 15, contributing updates to WFAN’s “Imus in the Morning.” He quickly expanded his reach, hosting “Kidsports” on WGBB and evolving into shows like “What’s Up With Evan Roberts” and “Nets Slammin’ Planet” for Radio AAHS, showcasing his early passion for sports broadcasting. His formative years also included acting roles, appearing in the 1996 film “Tromeo & Juliet” and Howard Stern’s 1997 autobiography “Private Parts,” demonstrating a diverse range of early professional experiences.
Roberts’ professional radio career gained significant momentum after high school graduation. He spent two years working for XM Satellite Radio in Washington, D.C., followed by a stint at WJFK in Baltimore, Maryland, in 2003 and 2004. Upon returning to New York, he hosted his own show on Maxim Radio via Sirius Satellite Radio. His dedication led to his hiring as an overnight host on WFAN in July 2004. A major turning point occurred on January 2, 2007, when he partnered with Joe Benigno for the “Benigno & Roberts in the Midday” show, a collaboration that would last for 14 years, establishing him as a prominent voice in New York sports radio. The show’s success led to an expanded timeslot in 2018 and an elevation to the afternoon drive program “Joe & Evan” in 2020.
Following Benigno’s retirement in November 2020, Roberts co-hosted “Carton and Roberts” with Craig Carton, further solidifying his presence in the industry. Currently, he co-hosts the “Evan and Tiki” radio show with Tiki Barber on WFAN-AM and WFAN-FM, airing weekdays from 10 am to 2 pm ET. Beyond radio, Roberts has ventured into podcasting, hosting “The Evan Roberts Podcast” and the “Rico Brogna Podcast,” offering instant reactions to sporting events and news. In April 2024, he published “My Mets Bible: Scoring 30 Years of Baseball Fandom,” a book that encapsulates his lifelong dedication to the New York Mets, intertwining personal memories with detailed scorecards.
