Twitch signed a multi-year content deal with Disney Digital Network, which included Luzu Games as one of the creators managing their own channels on Twitch for live broadcasts and other content. This also involved an English-language spinoff of his Spanish channel.
PCBox Barcelona configured and assembled a custom gaming PC for Luzu to use for his streams and content creation while in Barcelona. This partnership was highlighted in a PCBox blog post.
Borja Luzuriaga Vázquez, known online as Luzu Games, LuzuVlogs, or simply Luzu, was born in 1985 and raised in Getxo, Vizcaya, Spain. From a young age, he developed an interest in both surfing and videography, utilizing a Beta camera to film his daily life and imaginative play with toys. This early engagement with visual storytelling laid the foundation for his future career. After completing his undergraduate studies, Luzu moved to Los Angeles, California, at age 23, to pursue a Master’s degree in Business and Management of Entertainment at UCLA, further developing his expertise in the audiovisual field.
Following his master’s program, Luzu gained professional experience working for a production company in Los Angeles, specializing in promotional videos for the film industry, including red-carpet events and junkets. He held responsibilities such as drafting interview questions and editing content. During this period, he observed the emerging phenomenon of content creation on YouTube and recognized its potential. Despite proposing YouTube content creation to his then-employer without success, he began creating his own videos in his free time. This independent endeavor involved hours of work each day after his regular job. Eventually, recognizing the platform’s burgeoning impact, Luzu made the decision to dedicate himself full-time to YouTube content creation.
Since then, Luzu has established a significant presence across multiple platforms, becoming a well-known YouTuber and streamer. His primary gaming channel, “luzugames,” has amassed over 11 million subscribers, where he focuses on titles such as Minecraft, Fortnite, GTA V Online, and PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. Beyond gaming, he also developed the “LuzuVlogs” channel, which covered travel and personal reflections, and was an early adopter of innovative filming techniques like drone usage in his “Surfing USA California” series. His career progression highlights a shift from traditional media production to pioneering digital content creation, emphasizing authenticity and direct audience engagement.
