Fabio Cannavaro is celebrated as one of the greatest defenders in football history, with a remarkable career that spans both playing and coaching. He began his professional journey at Napoli, where he quickly made a name for himself as a formidable centre-back. His tenure at Napoli was marked by nearly 60 appearances and a reputation for strong defensive skills, which led to his transfer to Parma. At Parma, Cannavaro thrived, winning two Coppa Italia titles and the UEFA Cup, while also earning accolades such as the Serie A Defender of the Year. His leadership qualities emerged as he captained the team and formed lasting friendships with teammates like Gianluigi Buffon and Lilian Thuram.

In 2002, Cannavaro joined Inter Milan, where he contributed to the team’s resurgence, helping them reach the Champions League semi-finals.
