About

Fabio Capello was born on June 18, 1946, in San Canzian d’Isonzo, Italy. His career in football began as a player, primarily as a midfielder. He started at SPAL in 1964 before moving to Roma in 1967, where he won his first major trophy, the Coppa Italia, in 1969. His playing career continued with further success at Juventus from 1970 to 1976, securing three Serie A titles, and later at AC Milan from 1976 to 1980, adding another Coppa Italia and Serie A title.

Capello transitioned to management after his playing career, initially coaching youth teams at AC Milan from 1982 to 1986. His senior managerial debut came with AC Milan in 1991. Over his career, he became known for his disciplined approach and tactical versatility. He led Milan to four Serie A titles and a UEFA Champions League title in 1994. Further league successes followed with Real Madrid in 1997, Roma in 2001, and two Serie A titles with Juventus (later revoked).

He managed the England national team from 2007 to 2012, guiding them to the 2010 FIFA World Cup. Following his tenure with England, he coached the Russian national team from 2012 to 2015, leading them to the 2014 FIFA World Cup. His final role was with Chinese club Jiangsu Suning in 2017–2018, after which he announced his retirement from coaching.
