Florent Troillet

Florent Troillet, born on June 7, 1981, in Lourtier, Switzerland, began his competitive ski mountaineering career in 1995. He quickly advanced through the ranks, becoming a member of the Swiss national team in 1996 and joining the Dynafit team in 2003. His early career saw notable achievements, including a 2004 World Championship title in the “cadetts” and “juniors” category. These initial successes laid the foundation for his continued progression in the sport, where he consistently demonstrated skill and endurance in long-distance and individual races.

Troillet’s career is marked by significant milestones in major ski mountaineering events. In 2007, he was part of a team that set a record for climbing the Matterhorn via the Swiss side, completing it in 3 hours and 45 minutes. The year 2008 was particularly successful, with a first-place finish at the Patrouille des Glaciers alongside Didier Moret and Alexander Hug, marking the first Swiss team victory in eight years. He also earned a silver medal in both the individual and relay races at the 2008 World Championship. His consistent performance at events like the Trofeo Mezzalama and Pierra Menta further solidified his reputation as a top-tier athlete in ski mountaineering.

By 2010, Troillet reached a career highlight by winning the World Championship single race. That same year, he secured another first-place finish at the Patrouille des Glaciers with Martin Anthamatten and Yannick Ecoeur, and achieved second place in both the team and relay races at the World Championship. His achievements underscore a career dedicated to high-level competition, contributing to Switzerland’s presence in international ski mountaineering. Troillet continued to compete and achieve strong results, including a win at the Zermatt-Rothorn run in 2012.
