Gabriela Spanic is a widely renowned Venezuelan actress and singer who is best known for her roles in several Latin telenovelas. She is recognised primarily for her portrayal of twins in La usurpadora, which is hailed as one of the most popular telenovelas in the Spanish-speaking world. She is a talented actress and has been signed to Televisa, Telemundo, TV Azteca and more throughout her career.
Her career first began in 1992 when her name rose to recognition through the Miss Venezuela contest. This exposure kick started her acting career and she went on to make appearances in shows such as Morena Clara. It was in 1994 that she secured her first leading role in Como Tu Ninguna, which enjoyed enormous success internationally. She has also acted in Todo port u Amor, La usurpadora and more.
La usurpadora was famously the first novella to win more than 20 points in the grid of the TV American audience, a milestone achievement.
Spanic also co-hosted the OTI Festival in its last edition and in 2005 she was honoured by winning the Orquidea Award as well as the FAMAS Award for Best Actress. She has appeared in many television shows and films and has worked alongside renowned industry names. In 2020, she was selected to participate in the Hungarian version of Dancing with the Stars.
