Georgia Taylor-Brown is a British triathlete who has appeared regularly on medal podiums in recent years. In 2019 she clinched the gold medal at the AJ Bell World Triathlon Leeds 2019 and finished in the top 10 in every race throughout the year. At the beginning of 2020 Taylor-Brown was second in the International Triathlon Union (ITU) World Ranking and third in the World Triathlon Series (WTS) Ranking, and she has been a regular in the Great Britain WTS squad since 2018.
Born in Manchester, Taylor-Brown grew up in an athletic family – her mother was a national level swimmer and her father represented England in the 800m track event. She started swimming when she was five years old and running at 12 years old, later deciding to focus on triathlon after enjoying both sports and not wanting to choose between them. After being selected for the British Triathlon Olympic Development Squad she became an impressive junior competitor, winning consecutive ETU European Junior Championships in 2012 and 2013 and also taking the 2012 ITU Junior Duathlon World title.
In 2017 she made an impact on the Elite triathlon circuit winning the Madrid World Cup in style with an impressive 10km run and winning Under 23 gold at the European Championships. In 2018 Taylor-Brown became a regular in the Great Britain WTS squad, climbing her first top level podium at WTS Leeds behind Vicky Holland. Her impressive form in her debut year helped her to climb to third in the overall WTS rankings, and she remained consistent in 2019 to stay in the top three. Taylor-Brown shows no sign of slowing down as she continues to grace medal podiums around the world.
