Best described as “80’s bombshell meets sci-fi superhero” by Annabel Iwegbue at Cosmopolitan, French Drag Queen Ghost Elektra is a fierce and enigmatic performer based out of both Paris and Berlin. Considered to be France’s top international drag queen, Ghost Elektra certainly is a leading force in the world of drag.
She describes her character as “the perfect frontier between science-fiction, fetish, and glamour”. Not surprisingly, Ghost Elektra is strongly inspired by strong women characters in sci-fi films, especially cyberpunk and tech noir movies such as Blade Runner and The Matrix. Her love of sci-fi mixes beautifully with her 80’s couture influence, the likes of Thierry Mugler and Jean-Paul Gaultier, to create her unique and showstopping look. Ghost Elektra strives to be a queen in the same realm of Ru-Paul Drag Show winner Sasha Velour, whom she says is a smart, kind and compassionate queen focused on being an ally to the LGBTQ community.
At the start of her drag career, Ghost Elektra had a difficult time finding places to perform that incorporated her love of techno and gothic elements. Solution? She created her very own space for such a thing, a perfect blend of drag and dark, techno vibes, entitled Tech Noire. The show is still booming in Paris, having gone from 80 people in its early days to a massive 700 now. Ghost Elektra also acts as host for the Night Shift in Berlin, truly an international superstar. On top of hosting these two massive shows, she is also president of the event collective, Forensics, in Paris, a space for concerts, drag shows and so much more.
