Giles Matthey was born on November 11, 1987, in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. At two years old, he relocated to London with his family. During his teenage years, while attending Harrow School, he developed an interest in acting. He subsequently moved to New York City, where he completed a two-year conservatory program at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute, laying the foundation for his acting career.

Matthey’s acting career began in 2011 with an appearance in “The Good Wife.” In 2012, he secured a role as Claude Crane in the HBO series “True Blood,” appearing in nine episodes over two years. His film work includes playing Apple design chief Jonathan Ive in “Jobs” (2013) and a lead role in the 2014 independent film “Boulevard,” starring alongside Robin Williams. In 2014, he also joined the cast of the FOX limited event television series “24: Live Another Day” as CIA intelligence analyst Jordan Reed, appearing in nine episodes.

His career continued with a role in the CBS drama series “NCIS” in 2015, where he portrayed Daniel Budd in three episodes. From 2016 to 2017, Matthey took on a recurring role in the sixth season of ABC’s “Once Upon a Time” as Gideon, appearing in 14 episodes. More recently, he featured in “Ford v Ferrari” (2019) as Lance Reventlow and “Invitation to a Murder” (2023) as Phillip Armstrong. In 2024, he appeared in the TV Mini Series “Apples Never Fall” as Harry Haddad, and he is slated for voice work in “Creature Commandos” in 2025. He married English entrepreneur Gabrielle Jones on December 15, 2024.
