Gillian Jacobs was born on October 19, 1982, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Her early life was marked by a keen interest in acting, leading her to attend acting classes at the Pittsburgh Playhouse on weekends from a young age. She honed her craft at the prestigious Juilliard School in New York, graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 2004. Jacobs made her acting debut at 16, portraying Titania in the Pittsburgh Public Theater’s adaptation of Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.” This early experience in theater laid the foundation for a career that would span stage, film, and television.
Jacobs achieved widespread recognition for her role as Britta Perry in the NBC sitcom “Community,” which ran for six seasons from 2009 to 2015.
