Giuseppe Rossi, an Italian-American forward, has had a distinguished career playing for major clubs across Europe and representing the Italian national team. Following his playing career, he transitioned into sports commentary and a leadership role in soccer development. After making his first-team debut for Manchester United in November 2004 during a League Cup match, Giuseppe Rossi went on to establish himself as a prolific forward in European football. He scored his first Premier League goal in October 2005 against Sunderland, showcasing his early promise.
During his tenure, he achieved the distinction of becoming Villarreal’s all-time top scorer, a record that stood until 2021. Internationally, Rossi proudly represented the Italian national team, earning 30 caps and scoring 7 goals between 2008 and 2014, including winning the Golden Boot at the 2008 Summer Olympics with four goals. Following his impactful time at Villarreal, Rossi continued his playing career across various top-flight European clubs despite facing multiple severe knee injuries. He joined Fiorentina in 2013, notably scoring a hat-trick against Juventus in the same year.
Demonstrating his commitment to developing future talent and shaping the sport’s landscape, Rossi was appointed Vice Chairman and Head of Soccer for North Jersey Pro Soccer in July 2025. This expansion team is set to become the New York Cosmos in USL League One, a role that allows Rossi to contribute significantly to soccer development in the region.
