Hagir Elsheikh

Hagir Elsheikh earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Grand Canyon University in 2012, an academic achievement that laid the foundation for her subsequent career as a serial entrepreneur, humanitarian, and motivational speaker. Her contributions to the field were recognized with her induction into the Grand Canyon University Alumni Hall of Fame in 2019, and she further serves on the Harrisburg Area Community College (HACC) board of trustees. Elsheikh channeled her advocacy into launching multiple organizations, including HSE Staffing Agency LLC, a healthcare staffing firm. She also founded Kareem’s Mission, a nonprofit supporting families navigating autism diagnoses, and Tomorrow’s Smile Inc., a nonprofit dedicated to survivor support and public education on domestic and gender-based violence.

Her media presence continued in 2021 when she moderated a panel discussion on U.S. politics for France 24 Arabic. She delivered a significant address at the African Human Rights Leaders Summit at Johns Hopkins SAIS in 2022. The following year, 2023, saw the publication of her second book, ‘Dreamer in Chains: Poems of Exile and Resilience,’ and a presentation at the University of Pennsylvania’s ‘Women Transforming Societies: The Global Fight for Human Rights’ event.

Looking ahead to 2025, Central Penn College will award her an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree, acknowledging her as a trailblazer and global peacekeeper. That same year, she will be named to City & State Pennsylvania’s ’40 in Their 40s’ list and receive official recognition in the U.S. Congressional Record on July 16, 2025, further cemented by a Pennsylvania Senate Citation presented in June 2025.
