Hannah Ware was born on December 8, 1982, in Hammersmith, London, England. She is the daughter of Helena (née Keell), a social worker, and John Ware, a former BBC Panorama reporter. Her older sister is the musician Jessie Ware. Ware received her acting training at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York, establishing a foundation for her career in film and television.
Ware began her film career with appearances in “Cop Out” (2010), alongside Bruce Willis and Tracy Morgan, and “Shame” (2011). She gained wider recognition through her work in television, starring as Emma Kane, the estranged daughter of a Chicago mayor, in the Starz political drama series “Boss” from 2011 to 2012. Her leading role in the ABC primetime soap opera “Betrayal” (2013-2014) further cemented her presence on American television. In 2013, she also appeared in Spike Lee’s thriller film “Oldboy.”
Her career continued with the female lead role in the action film “Hitman: Agent 47” (2015), where she starred opposite Rupert Friend. Ware also featured in the film “Aftermath” (2017) and “The Angel” (2018). More recently, she starred in the Hulu series “The First” in 2018 and played the main role of Rebecca Webb in the Netflix science fiction series “The One” in 2021, showcasing her range across different genres.
