Norway Hans Christer Holund is a Norwegian cross-country skier with multiple Olympic and World Championship medals.
Collaborated on a training program for cross-country skiing, designed for individuals aiming to train four to five times a week and participate in events. This program was developed in conjunction with Petter Skinstad.
Holund represents Lyn Ski, which is one of the largest and most successful ski clubs in Norway. The pro team associated with Lyn Ski consists of local athletes.
Hans Christer Holund, born on February 25, 1989, in Oslo, Norway, is a cross-country skier representing SFK Lyn. He commenced his international career at a young age, securing a gold medal in the 10 km classical at the Junior World Championships in 2008. His debut in the FIS Cross-Country World Cup occurred in Lahti on March 8, 2009. Holund has consistently competed in top-tier events, establishing himself as a prominent figure in cross-country skiing.
Throughout his career, Holund has achieved significant milestones, including multiple podium finishes in the FIS Cross-Country World Cup. He earned a bronze medal at the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games in the Men’s 30 kilometers Skiathlon. His success continued at the World Championships, where he secured a gold medal in the 50 km freestyle event at Seefeld in 2019. He further added to his gold medal tally in the 15 km freestyle and the 4 x 10 km relay at the 2021 World Championships in Oberstdorf, alongside a bronze in the 30 km skiathlon.
Holund’s career progression demonstrates sustained performance at the elite level. At the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games, he contributed to Norway’s silver medal in the Men’s 4 x 10km Relay. In 2023, he earned another gold medal in the 4 x 10 km relay and a bronze medal in the 15 km freestyle at the Planica World Championships. His consistent presence on the podium in both individual and team events highlights his enduring skill and dedication to the sport. In February 2023, Holund announced his retirement from elite cross-country skiing.
