Harmeet Singh

Harmeet Singh Baddhan was born on September 7, 1992, in Mumbai, India. He quickly rose through the ranks in Indian domestic cricket, demonstrating promise as a slow left-arm orthodox bowler. He led Mumbai at the Under-16 and Under-19 levels and was an early recipient of the Ramakant Achrekar Scholarship. His first-class debut was notable, securing a seven-wicket haul. By his third first-class match, he had achieved his maiden five-wicket haul. Singh was also part of the India Under-19 cricket team that participated in the 2012 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup, where he played a crucial role in India’s victory with an economy rate of 3.02.

In 2013, Harmeet Singh was acquired by the Rajasthan Royals for the Indian Premier League (IPL) season. He continued his domestic career, becoming the leading wicket-taker for Tripura in the 2018–19 Vijay Hazare Trophy, with thirteen dismissals across eight matches. Frustrated with selection politics in Indian cricket, he made the decision to relocate to the United States in August 2021. He settled in Seattle, where he began captaining the Seattle Thunderbolts in Minor League Cricket. His performance led to him being selected first overall in the Major League Cricket (MLC) draft by the Seattle Orcas, marking him as the first player drafted into the MLC.

His move to the United States allowed him to qualify for the United States national cricket team by residency. He made his Twenty20 International (T20I) debut for the United States in April 2024 against Canada. In January 2026, Singh was named to the USA squad for the 2026 T20 World Cup, where he took key wickets against prominent Indian players like Hardik Pandya and Axar Patel. Throughout his career, Singh has played for various teams including Mumbai, Tripura, Rajasthan Royals, Seattle Thunderbolts, and Seattle Orcas, establishing a track record as a bowler and a significant figure in the development of American cricket.
